We got this. We’re all tired of being stuck in the house. Here are a few suggestions for short but scenic getaways in Northeastern Oklahoma. Most are quite short, but getting to and from each can also offer a scenic break from the pandemic.
This tour begins in Skiatook at the “four way” and takes you through the sleepy hamlet of Avant. From there you’ll tour the rolling hills of the Osage to Birch Lake, near Barnsdall.
Start from OK-97 north of Sand Springs. Tour across the historic Shell Creek Dam, then finish on the aptly-named Water Tower Road.
This run crosses through the Kenwood Indian Reservation to visit Tulsa’s drinking water supply.
