Here’s a great story on David Sharp and his efforts to save Tulsa’s downtown from urban renewal. It’s nice to see the old neighborhood and so many familiar faces.

KOTV has recently opened a shiny new television studio in the Brady District.

The AA Logo Blandishment Project

Another iconic logo falls by the wayside.

American Airlines unveiled its new logo yesterday to mixed reviews. It replaces the iconic AA brand designed by Massimo Vignelli over 40 years ago.

Second Teensy Walmart to Open

Guess I spoke too soon.

sprawl-martWal Mart is taking sprawl to a more intimate level. Last week I remarked that Bentonville appeared to be a convenience store gold mine and pondered why Wally World wasn’t getting in on the action. Well, turns out the retail giant recently opened its second “tiny” store- it’s only 2500 square feet! Both are located in universities and branded as Walmart Express.

Hot dogs from China, anyone?

Wal Mart Overlooks Convenience

Interesting battle for control of the convenience store landscape in the Land of Wal Mart.

According to CSP.net two c-store chains from Iowa are buying up property for new stores faster than pay-at-the-pump. Caseys’ and Kum-n-Go (tee hee) have opened more than a dozen new stores in Northwest Arkansas.

It surprises me that Bentonville hasn’t jumped into the fray. But I guess for some people Wal Mart is a convenience store? Yuck.
