Enjoy a Cocktail

..but without the hangover.

Going dry in January doesn’t mean you have to skip the cocktail, just the booze. And there are some really tasty alcohol-free alternatives available.

Drink Monday

I’ll admit it: I like gin. I might like gin a little too much.

That’s why I was intrigued by some of the alcohol-free spirits now available. A friend suggested a brand called Drink Monday. In addition to the lovely bottles, they offer non-alcohol versions of gin, whiskey, rum and mezcal.

It’s surprisingly good too. You’ll notice the lack of “burn” due to the absence of alcohol, but it makes a damn fine cocktail. That said, if you prefer your whisky neat… well, you may be disappointed.

Overall, not so great for quaffing straight. But this is a great option if you’re looking for a non-booze cocktail alternative.

More worthwhile options for sober enjoyment:
Non — an Australian 0.0% winemaker uses a special process to make some excellent vino.
St. Regis — Finding a drinkable white wine is not easy. The de-alcoholized Chardonnay from St. Regis is the best I’ve had.
Ritual — the Zero Proof Whiskey Alternative is tasty. And I’m not usually a fan of whiskey so… take that for what it’s worth.
