Two Wheel Oklahoma Returns to TV

I’m happy to report Oklahoma’s only motorcycle-related-documentary-style-television-travel show will return to viewers’ living rooms tomorrow evening. Two Wheel Oklahoma will be broadcast on Cox Cable three times a week beginning August 31st at 8:30 p.m.

Here’s a handsome poster to help you remember- or share it with friends and colleagues!

Tower Man

The sad and depressing saga of Tower Man continues to unfold. The news updates roll out like a train wreck in slow motion. This will eventually end, and the outcome will almost surely be bad.

So far the poor guy has endured sun, wind, pepper spray and hypoxia. To top it off (ahem) a live cam is now focused on his high altitude crib.

Want to get to know the Tower Man? Now you can with a Facebook page which has over 4,500 friends. Who says it’s lonely at the top?

Classic Tulsa Archive

Anyone interested in vintage views of Tulsa should visit the vast archive of photographs from the Beryl Ford Collection. The database has been made available online by the Tulsa City-County Library system and the Tulsa Rotory Club. Prints are also available through the Tulsa Historical Society.

The collection offers more than 22,000 images collected over a lifetime by this humble historian of Tulsa’s early years. This collection is so amazing because of the numerous scenes of everyday life- like this scene showing a traffic accident at 11th and Denver.

Set the Wayback for “then” and explore the Tulsa of yesteryear. I think you’ll agree, it’s an invaluable resource for our City.
