Society in a Tube

Airports are funny places.

When you’re in an airport here’s a strange sense of place- yet you’re no place at all.

Clouds over Minneapolis

All these people, arriving in aluminum tubes from across the country, are milling about this expansive building on the outskirts of metropolis. It’s kind of like a shopping mall with lame stores.

It’s also like a giant pachinko machine people enter- they bounce around, then eventually exit. Hopefully.

The losers get lost, get delayed or, worst of all, miss their flight. The winners enter, pass through briskly and exit unscathed.

So enjoy your travels. And if you ever figure out how pachinko works let me know.
